Richard M. Sorensen

Richard Sorensen, formerly of Glen Ellyn, age 86, passed away on August 7, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Patricia (nee Griffin); loving father of Paul (Teresa), Sandra, and David (Diane).  Dear grandfather of Elizabeth and Thomas.Richard was a retired marketing research executive at Abbott Laboratories.  He held undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin, was an Army veteran, and worked for General Electric and Paper Mate, before completing his nearly 20-year career with Abbott Laboratories.  He was passionate about jazz music and an avid collector of jazz records.  A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, August 20, from 4pm to 7pm at The Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn.
