Mary Daly

Mary Daly (nee Siena), age 96, currently of Lombard and formerly of Chicago and Glen Ellyn entered into eternal life on November 7, 2018. Mary was born November 17, 1921 in Chicago, the daughter of Giovanni and Rosmonda Siena. Beloved wife of the late Charles Daly; loving mother of Barbara Rachowicz (Stan) and the late Charles B. Daly (Lynn); dear grandmother of Heather Barella (Derek), Joslyn Kass, David Rachowicz (Jen), Holly Snyder (Jay), Greg Daly (Colleen), Renee Dougherty (Brendan), Tricia Marszalec (Joe); cherished great-grandmother of Nicholas, Madison, Lexie, Katelyn, Mikayla, Owen, Kyle, Anna, Nora, Lily, Jack, Kellen, Casey, Bridie, Charlie, Molly, Maeve, Declan, Annie, Dominic, Jillian; fond sister of Serio Siena (Tosca), and the late Nano, Rose, Seco, and John, adored aunt and friend to many. 

Mary was a blessing in the lives of so many, with her warm, generous heart and wonderful sense of humor. She always knew how to light up a room. Over the years, Mary worked in a variety of interesting jobs, including at the Blackstone Hotel, WAIT Radio, the Illinois Racing Board, and as a television “extra.”  She was an avid world traveler and especially enjoyed returning to Italy.  She also enjoyed painting, golf, swimming, and Wii bowling. Mary’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will always be in our hearts.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 11, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. Funeral Mass will be Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Petronille Church, 420 Glenwood Ave, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.  The family expresses special gratitude to the staff at Beacon Hill Senior Living for their caring and compassion.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Beacon Hill Employee Appreciation Fund, ATTN: Robert Hale, 2400 South Finley Road, Lombard IL 60148.
