Karen R. Franken

Karen Rae Franken nee: Hazzard, 76, passed away February 9, 2018, surrounded by her son and daughter.  A lifetime resident of Illinois, Karen has lived in Glen Ellyn since 1970.  Born April 30, 1941 and raised near Winnebago, IL, she attended Northern Illinois University.  She taught elementary school in Westchester, IL and had a long career in purchasing for manufacturing in the Chicago area. Karen was an avid gardener and a gifted cook, creating a wonderful and welcoming home. As a loving mother and supportive friend, she was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to The Morton Arboretum of Lisle, or an animal welfare organization of your choice. Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 550 N Main St, Glen Ellyn, IL, at 1pm Saturday, February 17, 2018 with reception immediately following.
