Douglas Lee Thoma age 73 of Glendale Heights passed away suddenly on December 16th, 2017. He is the beloved husband of JoAnne nee: Ruda for 3 1/2 years and the former husband of Frances Lee "Fran" (Larry) Cormany. The loving father of Mark Douglas Thoma, Laura Lee (James) Chavez and Scott Douglas (Heather) Thoma. The loving step-father of Sheryl (David) Fonner, Jeremy Kalinowicz and Brian (Melissa) Carlson. The dear Grandfather of Martin Thomas Thoma and Anna Eileen Thoma, Rachel Lee Chavez and Darla Fern Chavez and Amanda Lee Thoma. The dear Step-Grandfather of Tara Fonner and Katelyn Fonner, Colin Kalinowicz and Hailey Carlson. The devoted son of the late Paul Frederick and the late Eleanor Anna. The fond brother of Paul Frederick Thoma III, Terry (late Heidi) Thoma and Marsha (late David) Ross. The uncle of many nieces and nephews and a dear friend to many. Douglas was a devoted follower of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved carpentry and working with wood. He had golden heart and a magnetic personality that could make anyone smile. He loved fishing and the beauty of the Morton Arboretum. His visitation will be Friday, December 22nd from 3-9 PM at the Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duane St. Glen Ellyn. (630-469-0032 or leonardmemorialhome.com). A funeral service will be Saturday, December 23rd, 9:30 AM at St. Paul Evangelical Church, 118 First St., Bloomingdale, IL 60108. Interment will follow at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The American Diabetes Association
