Welcome to the memorial page for

Craig J Bromann

July 27, 1950 ~ March 2, 2017 (age 66) 66 Years Old

Craig Jonathan Bromann, age 66. A resident of Glen Ellyn, he leaves behind his loving wife of 30 years Nancy (nee Webster), son Theodore, daughters Madeline Gumm and Lillian, and son-in-law Josh Gumm. He was a devoted grandfather to Emery Louise Gumm, loving son of the late Walter C. and Gloria M. Bromann, fond brother to Scott (Carlyn), Mark, and Dean (Julie), and caring uncle and great-uncle to many.

Craig was a proud graduate of Glenbard West High School, Class of 1968.  He received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Denver (DU) and had quite the baseball career as the key pitcher for the Pioneers. He was also a member Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity.  He went on to play Minor League Baseball for the San Diego Padres before starting his career, first as a substitute teacher at Hadley Junior High School and then entering his career in mortgage banking and risk management.  He retired from BMO Harris Bank in November 2016 after 29 dedicated years.

Craig was involved in coaching his childrens’ ball teams and was a Sunday school teacher and Church Treasurer in years past. He was devoted to bettering Glen Ellyn by serving on the Capital Improvements Commission and the Planning Commission, from which he retired in 2016.  He loved being surrounded by his family, playing and watching baseball, playing bridge, attending Webster family reunions, being with friends and reuniting with fraternity brothers. But most especially, he loved fishing with his dad and brothers. Trips to Manitowish Waters with his parents, brothers, children and nieces and nephews, were etched in his heart.
