Carol M Bennett

Her Memorial Service will be November 8th at 11AM at St Mark's Episcopal Church of Glen Ellyn, 393 N. Main St. Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.

Interment will be private. 

Preceded in death by her beloved husbands John Charles Merrick and Ervin Harold Bennett. Loving mother of Mary Ann Temple, John Robert (Barbara) Merrick, James Charles (Janice)  Merrick and David William Merrick. Dear grandmother of nine grandchildren and great grandmother of eight and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Devoted daughter of the late John and late Marjorie Whitelock. Fond sister of the late Marion Hesterman, late Marjorie Caldwell, late Robert Whitelock, and mother-in-law of the late Margaret Jordan Merrick.

Carol was a lifelong resident of Glen Ellyn and Wheaton.  Her parents, especially her father, were instrumental in the growth and expansion of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn where Carol remained active throughout her life. She was involved in the Church’s Daughters of the King. She was also a member of P.E.O. Chapter AU in Glen Ellyn for over 50 years.  P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization that promotes education for women. Carol sold real estate for Baird and Warner in Glen Ellyn for many years.  She was a very kind and caring person who was devoted to her family, friends, and church.

Interment will be private in Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn or P.E.O.
