Theresa A. (Pentino) Mathis

Theresa A. Mathis, 73, of Glendale Heights passed peacefully surrounded by family on April 8th. Preceded in death by her parents John C. and Domenica “Mini” Pentino. Devoted Mother of Michelle (David) Engstrom and Joseph Barton. Loving Nana to Safari Barton, Austin Sands, Alison (Gavin) Van Deveer and Eric (Holly) Engstrom. Adoring Great Nana to Amelia, Emmalynn, Jayce, Olivia, Viola, Cane and she was eagerly awaiting baby Sophia.

Beloved Sister of Carmella (the late Dino) DiCicco, Frances (James) Cohn, Patricia Rich, Rocco (Cathy) Pentino, Lucy (Marshall) Loftus and the late Cliff (Sandy) Steele. Cherished Aunt (Zizi) of many nieces and nephews.

Theresa was the funniest person in the room without having to try. She had a remarkable talent of making people smile. She loved her family more than anything. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends, sitting outdoors and going for walks.

Theresa will be missed by so many. She is floating with the butterflies now.

Visitation begins at 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, April 11 at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane Street in Glen Ellyn. Service at 10 am on Friday, April 12 at Leonard Memorial Home. Burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. For more information please call (630) 469-0032.
