Brigitte M. (Rau) Koehler

Brigitte M. Koehler nee: Rau, 83, of Idar-Oberstein, Germany. Beloved wife of William W. Koehler. Loving mother of William, Steven, Susan, and James. Loving grandmother of Jonathan, Danielle, Christian, Cody, Dylan, Austin, Scott, and Katie. Adoring great grandmother of Riley, Kinsley, and Ember. Dear daughter of Eberhard and Irma Rau and loving sister of Roland and Udo. 

Born and raised in Germany she eventually met, fell in love, and married a U.S. service member. She immigrated to Chicago, IL in 1960. Though she suffered many hardships throughout her life, she never complained and always persevered.

She was a long-time employee of Pepperidge Farms and took joy in dropping off loaves of raisin bread at the homes of her children. Some of her proudest achievements were in the raising of her children, becoming a U.S. citizen, and being able to purchase a home of her own.

Above all else, Brigitte loved her family, whether it was taking the grandchildren out for lunch, having them at her house for a swim or sleepover, or just spending time and being with them. She always brought a smile to those around her and will be greatly missed.
