Verva B. Taft

Verva B. Taft, a resident of Glen Ellyn for over 50 years, passed away on November 26th, 2016. The funeral for Verva B. Taft, 86, will be private. Born on July 25th, 1930, Verva grew up in River Forest Illinois and attended Oak Park River Forest High School.  A popular grade school teacher at Hawthorn and Forest Glen Schools in Glen Ellyn for over 20 years, Mrs. Taft graduated from Yankton College S.D. where she also met her late husband of 62 years, Roy Taft. Verva was an active member of the Glen Ellyn Historical Society and spent time as a volunteer at Stacy’s Tavern in Glen Ellyn providing tours. Mother of Steve (Anne), Barbara Parker, Rob (Cindy) and the late Debra; grandmother of Conor, Lauren, Trevor, T.J. and Jenna Parker, Jake, Kris, Kristina, Robert, Abbey, Lesa and Molly and the late Jack Hennessey; great grandmother of Logan Harris and Ava McAuliff; sister of the late Marilyn.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Glen Ellyn Historical Society appreciated.
