Nancy N. (Norden) Iverson

Nancy N. (nee Norden) Iverson died peacefully on July 18, 2017. Nancy  was born February 16, 1934, to LeRoy and Bernice (Krieger) Norden of Ohio, Ill.   After graduating from Ohio High School in1951, she attended Augustana College for a year prior to earning her RN Degree from Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing, Moline, IL.   Her nursing career took her to Chicago where she met the love of her life, Stanley Iverson; they were married April 6, 1957, in Chicago and have lived there, Oak Park, Glen Ellyn and Wheaton in their 60 years of marriage.  They also had a second home in Ohio, IL for a number of years. Nancy was a devoted mother, raising and nurturing three sons, David, Daniel and Wayland.    Among her many other interests,  she  loved books/reading, family history, keeping in touch with  many friends from high school through nurse’s training and all those she’s met along the way since.   In later years Nancy volunteered at Love Letters, Peoples Resource Center, and PADs. Very active in church activities at Faith Lutheran Church, Glen Ellyn, she was chairman of Martha Circle, member of the Women’s Board, and Librarian for 25 years. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Ann Conner, she is survived by her husband, Stan, three sons, David (Sherrie), Dan (Barbara), and Wade (Julie) and four grandchildren, Kirsten, Matthew, Samantha, and Ben.  In addition, her brother Jerry and sister Alice Semlow. Also many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 9:30 AM- Noon at Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, IL.  Funeral services to follow at 2 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, 41 N Park Blvd, Glen Ellyn, IL. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Ohio, IL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Faith Lutheran Scholarship Fund or Lutheran Social Services of Illinois.
