Judith "Judy" Burke

Judith E. Burke, 75, and resident of Glen Ellyn since 1954, passed away on January 13.  She is the beloved wife of Donald “Jim”; loving mother of Michael (Megan) Burke and Jeffrey Burke; adoring grandmother of Allyson, Grace, Ryan and Miles Burke; dearest daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth Avenanee: Santogrossi and her late stepfather Robert McCarthy; loving sister of Lois (Ben) Heaton and the late baby Albert Avena and proud aunt of Eric (Carrie) Moran and Sean Moran. Visitation will be Friday, January 20th from 3-8 PM at Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duane St. Glen Ellyn. Funeral Mass Saturday 10 AM at St. Petronille Church, 420 Glenwood Ave. Glen Ellyn, IL. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, IL. Judy graduated from GlenbardTownship High School in 1959. She then attended beauty school and started her career at Ellyn Beauty salon, which she later took over with her longtime friend, the late Sue Allen. Judy became well known throughout Glen Ellyn area for her warm and caring personality.  She was a cornerstone in the Glen Ellyn community and her clients were her extended family.  She loved her grandkids, her friends, her community, her clients, black coffee and a Manhattan. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Petronille Church, 420 Glenwood Ave. Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
