Jane Lynch Day

Jane Lynch Day, 90, a Wheaton resident and longtime resident of Glen Ellyn, died Monday January 1, 2018, at Wynscape in Wheaton.  She was born July 25, 1927, in Baltimore, MD. Jane graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Elementary Education.  She later earned her Master’s degree in Library Science from Northern Illinois University, and taught for over 15 years in the Library Learning Centers for grade schools in Glen Ellyn and Downers Grove until her retirement.  She was active in many Glen Ellyn community groups, a member of the PEO, and an Elder and active member at First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn for over 50 years.  She was both a passionate teacher and a life-long learner, and tirelessly invested in her students, children and grandchildren.  She loved to read, travel, fish, play bridge, be with her friends at Wyndemere and attend her grandchildren’s many sporting events. She is survived by two children, Leslie Day of Wheaton and Charles (Janice) Day of Winfield; two grandchildren Connor Day and Lauren Day) of Winfield; and a brother, Albert (Marty) Lynch, of Middletown, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Kenly Day. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn, 550 North Main Street, Glen Ellyn.  A reception will immediately follow the memorial service at the church. Private interment will be held at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace.
