James C. Horton

James C. Horton passed away on September, 24, 2017. Beloved husband of 57 years to the late Anita. Loving father of David (Caryn), Joseph (Cathy) and James Jr. Dear grandfather of Andrew, Michael, Caitlyn and Ashlyn. Fond brother of the late Ruth Smolenski (Wilfried), Mary Seymour and Jean Cagle (Henderson). Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 4-8 PM at Leonard Funeral Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. Funeral service held Saturday, 10:00 AM at Leonard Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Glen Ellyn, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. James was a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, graduate of Indiana School of Law and retired Vice President of Portec, Inc. James had a life long passion for sports, he played football at Vanderbilt and later in life enjoyed coaching youth sports. For information please call 630-469-0032.
