It is with great sorrow to announce the unexpected passing of Grover I. Chapman on May 30th, 2017.  He was born on Jan 25, 1930 in Chicago, the only child of Grover and Sylvia (nee Meyer.) He was a resident of Wheaton since 1969.  He is survived by his partner and best friend, Jutta Popejoy. He is preceded in death by his wife Maria Ruiz and a long time friend, Mary Matthias.
Grover was a U.S. Army vet having served in Korea.  After returning from service, he joined the Eaton Corporation from which he retired after 45 years as an accountant.
Grover was the quintessential Renaissance man, a consummate reader and passionate lover of the fine arts.
He believed in the sanctity of life, saw only the best in people, and even taking care of the stray mouse that managed to find a way into his home. He was a supporter of many charities, and enjoyed volunteering his time to them.
He will be sorely missed by anyone whose life he touched.  A celebration of his life is planned for a later date.
Donations to People’s Resource Center, Finance Department, 201 S. Naperville Road, Wheaton IL 60187 or P.A.W.S. 1997 N. Clybourn Ave. Chicago, IL 60614
