Eula Jeane Slone

Eula Jeane Slone was born in Harrison County, Kentucky on December 6, 1924 and died on September 20, 2016 in Bolivia, NC.  She was.a resident of Glen Ellyn for 56 years. 

Jeane was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Slone; her daughter, Charlotta J. (Slone) Collins; and a grandson, Jeffry Collins.  She is survived by her daughter, Chyleen Slone of Wilmington, NC; and her sons John (Carol) Slone of Garfield, AR and Mark (Sheila) Slone of St. Louis Park, MN.  She had 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Jeane loved music and always sang in the church choirs, including the Glen Ellyn Bible Church Choir.  She also sang with the “Silvertones”, a senior choir in Wheaton, IL.  She enjoyed gardening and sewing.  One of her favorite joys was making candy during the holidays to share with neighbors and friends.  Each year everyone would return their candy tins waiting for them to be refilled the following holiday season!  She will always be remembered for her tenacity and her kind heart.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016 at The Leonard Memorial Funeral Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn, IL from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.  A private service and interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
