Dr. Craig Warren Hjorth of Glen Ellyn, IL, passed away June 24, 2017 at the age of 67. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Stevens Hjorth, three devoted children, Josh (Christine) Hjorth, Robyn (Frank) Hjorth-Martin, Kelly (Michael) Olsen, and eight grandchildren, Jackson Hjorth, Joseph Hjorth, Jonathan Hjorth, Baby Girl Hjorth, Eva Martin, Milo Martin, Louis Olsen, and Piper Olsen. In addition, he is survived by many family members: his father Warren Hjorth, Brad (Sandy) Hjorth, Janet (Larry) Hickey, Karen (Rich) Stromberg, Erik (Traci) Jensen and James (Laura ) West. He is preceded in death by his mother Marjorie McMillan Hjorth.
Dr. Hjorth was a senior level clinical psychologist and founder of Glendale Psychological Practice. Dr. Hjorth was an administrator for residential treatment centers serving the greater Chicagoland area for many years. He worked directly with children and adults in all settings and consulted in the design and training of trauma focused treatment. He recently held a seat on the board of the American Association of Residential Treatment Centers.
Dr. Hjorth was a kind, caring, giving husband, friend, dad and grandpa. He was a history buff who loved to read, spend time with his family, and pursue his passion of sports as a baseball, wrestling and football coach and fan. His wife, children and grandchildren meant everything to him.
Memorial visitation will be held from 2-5 PM on Friday, June 30 2017 at Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St. Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 with a memorial service to follow at 5 PM.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Glenbard West Athletics and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
