Lenore Fasules died on Oct. 13, 2012. Born on May 16, 1925 to Myra and Walter Nyzack, she grew up in Jefferson Park, Chicago. She attended Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon and graduated in 1947.
Lenore married Jim Fasules in 1948 and remained his wife until his premature death in 1987. In 1952, they moved to Glen Ellyn. She retired from teaching to raise three children but continued to actively volunteer, serving on various boards and committees for the National Ecumenical Association of Churches, the American Association of University Women, and the Central DuPage Pastoral Counseling Center. She and her husband helped organize the early booster program at Glenbard West High School, and Lenore was one of the founding members of the Prairie book club in Glen Ellyn.
Bright, artistic, lively and opinionated, Lenore painted for 50 years. Her work has been on display at the Glen Ellyn library, in galleries in the Chicago area and in private homes. She traveled extensively, but her favorite trip was to Montana, where she spent summer months fly fishing on the Madison River with her husband, children and, later, her grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by her children Jim, Nancy, and Gary, her grandchildren Lindsey, Sandy, Megan, Niko, Max, and Maya, her sister Donna, and her daughter-in-laws Linda and Shawn.
